It’s fun working on a saturday especially when your mission is writing an article about an event. My newspaper sent me to a huge club night in the most famous concert hall in the town: the Gewandhaus Leipzig. This hall is internationally known particularly by classic musicians. But because you can only listen to classic music there, the team thought about creating something new, so that they could allure more young people. And so the Audio Invasion was born. It’s a mix of classic and electro music. The night first starts with a classic concert (in this case with a piece by the english composer Benjamin Britten) and afterwards the turntables keep on playing: Abby, Filbert, Roosevelt, Karoucel, Oh Land and more – and live! It was awesome watching the mass of people going there and the location is great!
I am a huge fan of Bloc Party so I was interested in Kele Okereke which turned into a DJ this night. But because I was there for work I couldn’t take a picture together with him. Shortly before he came down from the little stage I had to jump to the main act: The french DJs Gilb’R, I:Cube, Joakim and Etienne Jaumet performed electro rhythms as Versatile Noise Troopers. I like the music by Joakim but I was disappointed when I just heard minimal techno without any melody. The guys around me were sleeping, dreaming but not dancing. Like being in a trance they sit and absorbed the beats. What a pity.
For dressing appropriate (the Gewandhaus is really noble even if it was a club this night) I decided for a black blouse with opulent stone elements at the end of the sleeves and a blazer with ornaments. Secret star of this event was my new Michael Kors bag. I love Michael Kors for a long time so that I decided to buy the bag of my dreams finally.
How did you spend your weekend and which music do you like?

Es macht Spaß an einem Samstag zu arbeiten, zumal wenn dein Auftrag lautet, einen Artikel über ein Event zu verfassen. Meine Zeitung schickte mich also zu einer riesigen Club-Nacht in einer der berühmtesten Konzerthäuser der Stadt: das Gewandhaus Leipzig. Das Haus ist besonders bei internationalen klassischen Musikern sehr bekannt. Aber da man dort nur klassischer Musik lauschen kann, hat sich das Team dazu entschlossen etwas ganz Neues auf die Beine zu stellen, um ein jüngeres Publikum zu gewinnen. So entstand die “Audio Invasion”. Ein Mix aus klassischer und elektronischer Music. Die Nacht beginnt zuerst mit einem klassischen Konzert (in diesem Fall mit einem Werk des englischen Komponisten Benjamin Britten) und setzt sich danach mit Dj-Pults fort, die nicht mehr still stehen: Abby, Filbert, Roosevelt, Karoucel, Oh Land und mehr – und live! Es war großartig die Massen der Menschen zu beobachten und die Location ist Wahnsinn!
Ich bin ein großer Bloc Party Fan und vor allem an Klee Okereke interessiert, der an diesem Abend den DJ gab. Aber, da ich ja nicht privat, sondern dienstlich vor Ort war, konnte ich leider kein Foto mit ihm zusammen machen. Kurz bevor er von der Bühne kam, musste ich zum Hauptact springen: Die französischen DJs Gilb’R, I:Cube, Joakim and Etienne Jaumet performten elektronische Rhythmen als Versatile Noise Troopers. Ich mag Joakim sehr, darum war ich enttäuscht als ich nur minimal Techno ohne jegliche Melodie hörte. Die Leute um mich herum haben sogar geschlafen, geträumt, aber nicht getanzt. Wie in Trance saßen sie da und sogen die Beats in sich auf. Echt schade.
Für ein angemessenes Outfit (das Gewandhaus ist wirklich sehr edel, selbst wenn es an diesem Abend ein Club war) entschied ich mich für eine schwarze Bluse mit opulenten Steinen am Ärmelende und einen Blazer mit Ornamenten. Heimlicher Star aber war meine neue Michael Kors Tasche. Ich liebe Michael Kors seit langem und jetzt habe ich endlich beschlossen die Tasche meiner Träume auch zu erstehen.
