WooooW! For Glossybox I visited the Make-up Show Europe which took place the second time at Berlin from the 22th to the 23th September. In an old industry area customers, retailers and beauty-fans could look for new cosmetic products, get advices or a completely make-up by various make-up artists. I found out the new trends for autumn/winter 2012/2013 and met Spob O’Brien and David Horne by Illamasqua who worked for movies like “Inception” and fashion shows such as for Alexander McQueen. And last but not least the gorgeous Sharon Dowsett who worked with lots of famous photographers likeNick Knight, Peter Lindbergh but also for important fashion magazines like Vogue, i-D and W-Magazine.

Beauty everywhere. Wherever you looked lipsticks, eye shadows, foundations, rouges and powders. Make Up Forever Professional Paris, Alessandro and Kryolan or Ellis Faas – the list was long. I didn’t really know where to start! I was nervous because in a few minutes I should met Spob and David but I had to gather impressions and pictures for my article for Glossybox. My little trip began at the press lounge where the wonderful PR agent Melody gave me a little black press-bag with give-aways. They are wonderful by the way but I’ll get back to this later.
I squeezed the bag into my Calvin Klein and looked around. After hopping from stand to stand and interviewing the guys, I discovered the other side of the area (with more stands!). I know that retailers are especially nice when they know that you are press and because they wanna sell their stuff… So, yes I’ve been trapped by a wonderful rose stand of the Creative Beauty Company/Hair and Make-up School. I loved to be there and the french owner Cecilia Bourgueil was absolutely gorgeous! I was pretty hungry because I didn’t eat in the morning and it was already one o’clock, my belly hurt a lot and she looked at me and said: “Honey!

Would you like to eat this?” and pressed a cotton candy into my hand. I laughed and started a short interview with her. In the little booth were pink painted boxes with products like hair spray, hair oil and cosmetic articles and between there were Barbie dolls and Ponies from “My little Pony”. I really enjoyed it. I mean, c’mon! Girls, ponies… And cupcakes! The most delicious mini cupcakes I’ve ever ate! She gave me a hairspray by “Bumble & Bumble” (and a huge amount of samples of the new hair oil) and said: “And if you’re hungry come back, sugar!” I think I will visit her at her shop in Berlin because she told me that you can get a free day and night make-up because the pupils have to learn.
