THE LAST RIDE
First May – here in the city it means the time has come for the traditional horse-race. For three years now I’ve visited this event and sometimes I even betted on a horse. This year was the last time – for me. This sport is too cruel and I read that once one of the horses died four or five years ago immediately after the race.
Horses belong to the most beautiful animals on earth and what they call a “tradition” is nothing more than a horrible way to torture horses. But why did I join the horse-race then? Well, I guess I didn’t really deal with that subject thitherto and in fact it does really belong to one of the most important events here in the city – even the major is present.
My look was easy: Instead of a hat I’ve decided for a fascinator and boots due to the dusty ground. I love the coral colors of my Twinset dress and I think I will find other occasions to wear it 😉
Erster Mai – in der Stadt bedeutet dieses Datum, dass wieder Zeit für das traditionelle Aufgalopp gekommen ist. Seit nun schon drei Jahren besuche ich dieses Event und setzte sogar auf ein paar Pferde. Dieses Jahr war es das letzte Mal – für mich. Zu grausam ist dieser Sport und vor etwa vier oder fünf Jahren starb sogar ein Pferd direkt nach dem Rennen.
Pferde gehören zu den schönsten Tieren der Erde und was sie als “Tradition” bezeichnen, ist nichts anderes als eine grausame Art und Weise die Tiere zu quälen. Aber aus welchem Grund habe ich dann teilgenommen? Nun, ich schätze, ich hatte mich bis dato nicht hinreichend mit dem Thema auseinandergesetzt und man muss dazu sagen, dass dieses Aufgalopp tatsächlich zu den wichtigsten Ereignissen hier in der Stadt gehört – sogar der Bürgermeister ist anwesend.
Mein Look war eher einfach: Statt eines Hutes entschied ich mich für einen Fascinator und Stiefel aufgrund des staubigen Bodens. Ich liebe die Korallfarben meines Twinset-Kleids und bin mir sicher, dass ich noch weitere Anlässe finden werde, dieses auszuführen 😉
