GREEK BEACH DAYS
“Stella, you love traveling to Greece. Why is this country so fascinating for you?”
“I started to come here when I was a kid in the age of 4 – since then I am a huge fan of the food, the people, the hot weather, the beaches and the Mediterranean Sea. The Greek yoghurt tastes totally different to the ones I’m used to eat here in Germany. They’re a bit sourish and it’s so funny that the Greeks simply add jam instead of real fruits when they want to eat “strawberry yoghurt”. And I adore zaziki. But this is no wonder because the base of it is the typical yoghurt.
Furthermore I love the jewelry shops in Greece. Never seen so much in a row. Real silver jewelry in thousand variations, sometimes gold-plated. Bringing a good souvenir is no stress.
The weather is a dream. No clouds, no rain – for months. My body is tanned. The salty air and sea helps my skin to regenerate – when I came back home my face was as soft as a baby’s bottom. And the beach: Sandy (but depends on which island you are), relaxing (especially the sound of the sea) and sometimes so funny, when the guy with a huge supply of donuts runs down the beach shouting: Donuts, donuts. Fresh donuts – no donuts, no sexy.”

“Seit ich ein 4-jähriges Mädchen war, komme ich hier her – seitdem bin ich ein großer Fan des Essens, der Menschen, des heißen Wetters, der Strände und des Mittelmeers. Der griechische Joghurt schmeckt total anders als die, die ich in Deutschland esse. Sie sind etwas säuerlich und es ist so herrlich, dass die Griechen einfach Marmelade statt richtige Früchte hinzufügen, wenn sie Erdbeerjoghurt haben wollen. Und ich liebe Tzatziki. Kein Wunder, schließlich ist die Basis des Ganzen der typische Joghurt.
Außerdem liebe ich die Schmuckgeschäfte in Griechenland. Ich habe noch nie so viele auf einen Haufen gesehen. Echter Silberschmuck in tausend Varianten, manchmal vergoldet. Ein tolles Souvenir mitzubringen, stellt da kein problem dar.
Das Wetter ist ein Traum. Keine Wolken, kein Regen – und das für Monate. Mein Körper ist gebräunt. Die salzhaltige Luft und das salzige Meer helfen meiner Haut sich zu regenerieren – als ich nach Hause zurückkam, war meine Haut so zart wie ein Babypopo. Und der Strand: sandig (allerdings abhängig davon auf welcher Insel man sich befindet), entspannend (besonders das Meeresrauschen) und so einige Male sehr witzig, wenn der Typ mit der großen Packung Donuts auf und ab läuft und ruft: “Donuts, donuts. Fresh donuts – no donut, no sexy!”
