In the 90s we were addicted to hoodie sweaters – especially with fat label names written on them. Then they disappeared just to come up again a couple of years later even fresher and – with frills! I don’t need to underline that I’m crazy for both. So you can imagine how surprised I was when I found this red hoodie dress at Monki’s with frills! It is something special – neither sexy nor useful for work. But it is a cool piece. Something you can wear with self-confidence and to show you could run a catwalk with it or even jump on a skateboard.
What have changed in fashion?
What I have noted recently that fashion changed a bit to the advantage of women. More freedom for the woman body. Thanks to different designers like Maria Grazia Chiuri – creative director at Dior – the thought of being feminist is no longer linked to unvarnished women’s libber. She created that “We all should be feminists” shirt and also the “J’adior” sling back pumps, which show women can be both sexy and with discernment.
Be honest: you all know the prejudice women has to deal with, especially in higher positions. If you want to be a business woman you need to wear clean clothes and nothing that could remind the other one of a little girl. Because is she really capable of leading a project / department / company in this (sling back) pumps? To say it in Obama’s words: Yes, we can! And thanks to designers like Chiuri it won’t be buried in oblivion.
With this ode I want you to know that this dress is the perfect statement of a modern feminist. Am I? Who knows…
In den 90er Jahren waren wir süchtig nach Kapuzenpullovern – besonders mit fett geschriebenen Labelnamen drauf. Dann verschwanden sie, um nur ein paar Jahre später ihr Revival zu feiern und zwar noch frischer und – mit Rüschen! Ich muss nicht betonen, dass ich auf beides abfahre. Ihr könnt euch also vorstellen wie überrascht ich war als ich dieses Konglomerat bei Monki gefunden habe: ein Kleid mit Kapuze und Volants. Es ist etwas Besonders – weder sexy noch brauchbar für das Arbeitsleben. Aber es ist cool. Etwas, das mit Selbstbewusstsein getragen werden sollte und zeigt, dass man sowohl damit auf den Catwalk als auch auf ein Skateboard aufspringen könnte.
Was hat sich in der Mode verändert?
Seit längerem fällt mir nun auf, dass sich die Mode zum Vorteil von Frauen geändert hat. Mehr Freiheit für den weiblichen Körper. Dank diverser Designer wie Maria Grazia Chiuri – Creative Director bei Dior – ist “Feminismus” nicht mehr länger mit ungeschminkten Emanzen verbunden. Sie kreierte das Shirt “We all should be feminists” und die “J’adior” Slingback Pumps, die zeigen, dass Frauen sowohl sexy als auch verantwortungsbewusst sein können.
Klingt plakativ, aber seien wir ehrlich: Ihr kennt sicherlich die Vorurteile mit denen vor allem Frauen in höheren Positionen zu kämpfen haben. Wer eine Business Frau sein will, sollte minimalistische Kleidung tragen und nichts, das an ein kleines Mädchen erinnern könnte. Denn, ist sie wirklich im Stande ein Projekt / eine Abteilung / ein Unternehmen mit diesen pumps zu leiten? Um es in Obamas Worten zu sagen: Ja, wir können! Und dank Designer wie eben Chiuri wird das nicht in Vergessenheit geraten.
Mit dieser kleinen Ode möchte ich euch sagen, dass mein Kapuzenkleid ein Statement an die moderne Feministin ist. Bin ich das? Wer weiß…

Das Kleid ist der Hammer! Das muss ich definitiv sofort mal googeln und schauen, ob es nicht auch in meinen Schrank wandert. Die Farbe und auch unten diese Volants sind wirklich klasse. Dir steht das Kleid richtig gut und ich finde es toll, dass du es mit einem zeitlosen Piece (also deine Tasche) kombiniert hast.

Deiner These stimme ich zudem auch voll und ganz zu. Ich sehe es überhaupt nicht ein, meine Leidenschaft für Mode der Karriere zugunsten zu verbergen. da gebe ich dir recht, von einer Business Lady wird meistens ein strenger und minimalistischer Look verlangt. Ich trage ehrlich gesagt auch ganz andere Kleidung für die Arbeit als in meiner Freizeit. Das hat aber auch ein bisschen damit was zu tun, dass die Leute mich oft einige Jahre jünger schätzen und wenn ich dann auch noch Rüschen auf der Arbeit trage, dann ist es noch schwieriger für mich ernst genommen zu werden :-D Aber ich versuche trotz allem immer stylisch auf der Arbeit zu erscheinen, denn bider und langweilig muss kein Business Look sein.
Dein Outfit ist alles andere als langweilig und ich finde, du hast die einzelnen Teile toll kombiniert! Dieses rote Pulloverkleid sieht toll zur Louis Vuitton aus!
