So my peeps! As I promised I wanted to write something about my view about the industrial keeping of animals. It is no secret that the consumption of meat has quadrupled within the last 60 years. But why? The ghost of “meal without meat is no meal” is still sitting in our heads although we do not belong to the war generation, which needed meat as important basic food resource. This time meat was very rare. But it’s different now! Several facts and statistics proof that the world population is in danger if we do not reduce our consumption.
The animals “live” in a horrible kind of way (if we can call that living at all), die catastrophically just because someone need a sausage on his grill – preferentially three times on a day. The people don’t care. I think this is the aspect, which is really bothering me. Eating vegan and vegetarian is not a religion or a show to demonstrate that meat eating people are evil. But an alternative and a reaction on the things, which happens all around us.
There is an editor, who made an interesting experiment here at my Newspaper: He stopped eating animal products for one month. In his blog he presented great vegan recipes and wrote about his experiences. The comments below his articles often were the same. The most stupid comment I’ve read was: We don’t teach the lion to eat grass, too! So why should we eat tree barks? This is what I call “external shaming”. It was embarrassing reading such a comment. Because it is not about eating grass (mainly who does eat tree brakes? Bitch please!) but eating in the right way such as eating meat twice or three times in a week – and not everyday.
It’s a difficult subject of course but we need to discuss it. Reducing the meat consumption would change a lot. And the cute little pigs might reach the age of four years instead of six months. And please always think about: Nobody was born to get killed for someone else!

So meine Lieben! Wie ich euch versprochen habe, schreibe ich euch heute etwas über meine Einstellung zur industriellen Tierhaltung. Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass sich der Fleischkonsum in den letzten 60 Jahren vervierfacht hat. Aber warum? Der Geist von “eine Mahlzeit ohne Fleisch ist keine Mahlzeit” ist fest im Kopf verankert, obwohl wir nicht mehr zur Kriegsgeneration gehören, die Fleisch als wichtige Nahrungsgrundlage benötigte. Zu dieser Zeit war Fleisch sehr selten. Doch heute ist es anders! Viele Daten und Statistiken beweisen, das die Weltbevölkerung in Gefahr ist, sollten wir den Konsum nicht reduzieren.
Die Tiere “leben” auf schreckliche Art und Weise (wenn man es überhaupt leben nennen kann), sterben katastrophal, nur weil jemand eine Wurst auf seinem Grill sehen möchte – am liebsten drei mal am Tag. Die Menschen kümmert es nicht. Das ist der Aspekt, der mich wirklich stört. Sich vegan oder vegetarisch zu ernähren ist keine Religion oder eine Show, um zu demonstrieren, dass fleischessende Menschen böse sind (solche Kommentare habe ich oft gelesen). Sondern eine Alternative und eine Reaktion auf die Dinge, die um uns herum geschehen.
Es gibt einen Redakteur bei meiner Zeitung, der ein interessantes Experiment machte: Für einen Monat lang aß er keine tierischen Produkte. In seinem Blog stellte er tolle vegane Rezepte vor und schrieb seine Erfahrungen nieder. Die Kommentare unter seinen Beiträgen waren oft gleich. Der dümmste Kommentar, den ich las, war: Wir bringen dem Löwen doch auch nicht das Grasfressen bei! Warum sollten wir als Baumrinden essen? Daraufhin schämte ich mich fremd. Es war peinlich diesen Kommentar zu lesen. Weil es nicht darum geht Gras (vor allem, wer bitte isst Baumrinde?) zu essen, sondern auf die richtige Art und Weise zwei bis drei Mal in der Woche Fleisch zu verzehren – und nicht täglich.
Natürlich ist das Thema schwierig, aber darüber muss gesprochen werden. Den Fleischkonsum zu reduzieren, würde sehr viel verändern. Und die kleinen süßen Schweinchen würden dann vielleicht vier Jahre statt sechs Monate alt werden. Und bitte denkt immer daran: Niemand ist auf diese Welt gekommen, um für jemanden zu sterben!

I think we should just produce enough of what we can really consume, these people kill so many animals and process so much meat products and they end up throwing away alot of the excess because not everyone buys them or gets to eat them. Imagine if they are able to give away those food products to the homeless and starving people. There should be a balance and we shouldn’t consume too much of these processed meat because its not healthy.

So und jetzt zum Eigentlichen. Auch ich esse kein Fleisch, wie erwähnt, und ja, du hast wirklich Recht. Ich bin selbst nicht diejenige, die anderen Leuten das vegetarische Ernähren aufzwingt oder so. Jeder kann essen, was er will. Aber halt nicht jeden Tag, wie du sagst. Leider ist es in so vielen Köpfen verankert, dass man nur dann satt ist, wenn man Fleisch zu sich genommen hat. Nur Fleisch bringt den Leuten diese gewisse Befriedigung. Zwei-, dreimal die Woche ist das ja ganz okay. Aber immer ist erstens überhaupt nicht gesund und zweitens umweltschädlich. Von den armen Tieren ganz zu schweigen. Ach, ich glaub über das Thema könnte man sich tagelang unterhalten…. Ich werde hier mal enden… Dein Artikel ist übrigens echt gut!

Süße! Ich finde es klasse, dass du so ein wichtiges Thema hier ansprichst.
Auch wenn ich mich selber nich tvegan ernähre, find ich es klasse, dass man sich Gedanken macht und nicht einfach alles in sich reinstopft.
Ich kaufe (wenn ich denn man 1-2 Mal die woche Bock auf Fleisch hab) immer an der Fleischtheke ein, weil ich einfach das Gefühl hab, dass dieses gefrorene Billigfleisch schlechter ist und das andere einfach besser gehalten wurde und mir persönlich dann auch besser schmeckt. Ich habe selbst überhaupt nicht das Gefühl, ohne Fleich etwas zu verpassen, aber ich mag Huhn und Pute einfach sehr gern und würde nicht unbedingt ganz darauf verzichten wollen. Außerdem bin ich auf nem Bauernhof groß geworden und für mich war es immer normal, dass Tiere gejagt, danach selbst verarbeitet und zubereitet wurden. Da hab ich überhaupt keine Bedenken. Aber du hast schon Recht, man sollte sich trotzdem Gedanken machen und nicht einfach ohne darüber nachzudenken, alles in sich reinfuttern. Danke, dass du dieses Thema angesprochen hast!

First of all, your figure as usual looks so stunning.
Second of all, 5 years ago I decided to go meat-less. My health got a bit weak, so I added fish in and I am now pesciterian. You will find loads of places saying how perfect this kind of eating is. In reality, I am not so sure. I actually got some tests done and I am waiting for results to find out whether or not it’s worth me going back to meat – for health!
I think the problem is not always with meat is with people overindulging on unhealthy foods and then blaming one food family for it! Everything is right in moderation :)

Ich selbst ernähre mich seit rund 2 Jahren vegetarisch und muss mir deswegen immer blöde Kommentare von Fleischessern anhören. Ich sehe mein Steak halt lieber lebendig auf der Wiese rumhüpfen :)

It’s a shame that some people fail to understand that we should respect each other’s views and beliefs. I personally went vegan for three months in the beginning of this year and I loved it. I still don’t eat meat (after watching countless documentaries of how animals are being treated, I just can’t), but I’m more of a vegetarian now, hopefully I can transition into a 100% vegan diet again soon.
