Today I’d like to introduce to you the new creation from designer Stephanie Burkhalter. I know her for years now and I’m really proud to count her to my friends. And here I really have to admit that I’m totally crazy for her awesome heels. Her new collection, so called “Californication”, is inspired by Hollywood’s glamour, LA’s nightlife, and So Cal’s sunshine and coast lines. She has been hard at work creating these new, trend-setting designs, but that’s not where the story begins. Switzerland born and Italian fed, Stephanie recently left Europe to pursue new love and inspiration, traveling across America and landing right at the coast of Malibu, California. She set up her studio and began exploring her new home, discovering the colorful heart of California’s coast which gave birth to a new vision in her heart – flowers. Passionately, and with all of the vibrant fabric she could get her hands on, Stephanie began to create.

Because of all the work she had to do, an assistant needed to be hired. That’s where Choco came into the story, the new and fabulous mascot of Burkhalter Couture. A Siamese/Himalayan beauty, Choco was found at a local animal shelter, afraid and mistreated by her previous owner. When Stephanie found her, they immediately bonded and the adoption happened within the hour. Now, Choco is well at home in the Burkhalter studio, not only assisting with the new collection, but also inspiring a new line of pet couture, soon to be released as “Choco Couture”.

Frühling! Die Pflanzen treiben Knospen, der Wind ist milder, die Sonne strahlt. Endlich Zeit meine Dachterrasse in der neuen Wohnung anzugehen. Wie ihr bereits wisst, bin ich vor einigen Monaten umgezogen und möchte mich jetzt der Balkongestaltung widmen. Bisher hatten Wind und Wetter rudimentäre Balkonmöbelstücke zerstört, so dass ich nun bei Null beginne. Und da ich keine Lust auf OBI oder IKEA habe, bin ich mal wieder im Internet auf der Suche neuer Baumarkt-Shops gewesen. Dabei bin ich auf den Onlineshop von Edinger mit schönen Gartenmöbeln gestoßen, bei dem ich mich jetzt austoben werde. Aber bevor ich jetzt beginne etwas zu kaufen, werden Inspirationen gesammelt und Pläne geschmiedet. Ich finde zum Beispiel die Idee einer Hängematter fantastisch. Darauf kann man im Sommer bei Gelegenheit gleich schlafen. Meine frechen Kaninchen muss ich außerdem noch unterbringen…

Spring! Plants are budding, the wind is gently, the sun is shining. Finally it’s the time for tackling my roof-deck of my new apartment. As you know already I’ve moved a couple of months ago and now I’d like to dedicate to designing my balcony. Until now wind and weather had only destroyed my rudimental terrace pieces of furniture so that I actually start at point zero. And because I’m through with OBI and IKEA I started to look again through the internet and found an online shop with great garden furniture. Here I can ran riot, now. But before I’m gonna buy stuff I’m making plans and gather inspirations. For instance I love the idea of the hammock! And in summer you can take  nap on it. And not to forget my cheeky lady buns, they also need their space…

“Hey join our blogger project: 7 Days of Style”, the lovely Nana said last week and quickly invited me. I was really surprised and happy about it – until it came to the motto: pattern mix. At first it sounded so last year because I’m so much into spring mood already, that I thought about pastel or bright colors. But then I decided to use the possibility to present my version of a spring pattern mix. With me is my favorite brocade coat, which I’ve broken with edgy high-top sneakers!

“Hey, mach doch bei unserem Blogger-Projekt mit: 7 Days of Style”, sagte die liebe Nana letzte Woche zu mir und lud mich kurzerhand ein. Ich war wirklich überrascht und froh darüber – bis ich das Motto hörte: Muster-Mix. Das klang zuerst nach letztem Jahr, denn ich bin bereits so in Frühlingsstimmung, dass ich an helle und pastellige Farben dachte. Doch dann entschied ich mich die Möglichkeit zu nutzen und meine Version eines Frühjahr-Muster-Mix zu präsentieren. Mit dabei ist natürlich mein Lieblingsbrokatmantel, den ich mit edgy High-Top Sneakers gebrochen habe!

Some of you might have wondered why my website had been offline until now. The secret is disclosed: I updated my blog-design. I decided for a minimalistic and mainly modern style with an easier handling and a better usability.

Einige von euch mögen sich gefragt haben, warum meine Seite offline war – bis eben. Das Geheimnis ist gelüftet: Ich habe mein Blog-Design aktualisiert. Dabei habe ich mich für einen minimalistischen und vor allem modernen Stil mit einfacherer Handhabung und einer besseren Benutzeroberfläche entschieden. 

You can find my social icons in the right corner below my (beloved) header, now. I probably won’t ever abdicate from it and was happy to see that the possibility to set my header existed.

Meine Social Icons findet ihr nun in der rechten Ecke über meinem (geliebten) Header. Ich werde wahrscheinlich nie auf ihn verzichten und war über die Möglichkeit, meinen Header zu setzen, sehr glücklich zu sehen. 

I really like square tiles – the splitting here was perfect for my posts. They remind me of Instagram pictures and I love the effect if you mouse over them.

Ich mag die gekachelte Struktur wirklich sehr – die Aufteilung hier gestaltete sich perfekt für meine Posts. Sie erinnern mich an Instagram-Bilder und ich liebe den Effekt, wenn man mit der Maus über die fährt.

For a better usability I added a searching-line. It’s not only very useful but also allows it to find older looks much faster than before. Talking about older posts. Additionally I set up an archive so that you can gather more inspirations.

Für eine bessere Benutzerfreundlichkeit habe ich eine Suchfunktion eingefügt. Diese ist nicht nur sehr nützlich, sondern erlaubt es auch ältere Looks schneller als vorher zu finden. Apropos ältere Posts. Zusätzlich habe ich ein Archiv gesetzt, so dass ihr weitere Inspirationen sammeln könnt.

My peeps, it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow and like lots of other girls I’m so excited about it. But: What shall I wear? What gifts can I make? What would he like – and maybe what would I like to get? To inspire you a bit for Valentine’s Day I’ve chosen some pieces, which you can buy for yourself o give away to your beloved one – also last minute! Let’s start with the right dress: Go and have a look at local stores or online shops. Of course there are also belated Valentine’s gifts – or you can chose dresses you’d like to wear for spring. Pastel colors are always great. Furthermore there are jewelry and fragrances. A sensual scent is perfect for everyday and takes us back to a special moment…

Meine Lieben, morgen ist Valentinstag und wie viele andere Mädchen freue ich mich schon sehr darauf. Aber: Was soll ich anziehen? Was kann ich verschenken? Was würde ihn begeistern – und vielleicht auch mich? Um euch ein bisschen für den Valentinstag zu inspirieren, habe ich einige Stücke ausgesucht, die ihr für euch selbst oder eure Liebsten erstehen könnt – und das auch in letzter Minute! Beginnend mit dem richtigen Kleid: Schaut euch in lokalen Geschäften oder Online-Shops um, die Abendkleider führen. Natürlich gibt es auch verspätete Valentinsgeschenke oder ihr sucht euch etwas, das ihr bereits im Frühling tragen könnt. Pastellfarben gehen immer. Weiter geht’s mit Schmuck oder Parfum. Ein sinnlicher Duft ist perfekt für jeden Tag und erinnert sofort an einen bestimmten Moment…
